Council ReportAs most of you are aware, the Council of Ravens Roosts has a booth every year at Raven’s training camp.  Camp this year begins on Tuesday, July 27th.  The booth is open only on the days that the camp is open to the public.  The Council is looking for volunteers to man the booth during those sessions.  The morning sessions would be from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and would require some setting up.  The afternoon sessions would run from 2:45 until about 5:30 and would include closing up for the day.  If anyone is interested in volunteering some time there or would like additional information please contact Lenny at lbanack@comcast.net

Board of Directors Meeting:  The board met prior to the general meeting tonight to go over some of our upcoming events.  The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 7:00 should anyone need to present something.

Special Guest:  Ray who is a member of RR 71 addressed the membership with a heartfelt thank you to our Roost for its donation of $250.00 to his cause.  He was raising money for the Kidney Foundation of MD.  If he could receive $1,000.00 in pledges, he would be able to rappel down the side of the Legg Mason Tower in downtown Baltimore.  He raised a total of $1,511.00 and despite his fear of heights, accomplished his goal J.

Convention: The Annual Convention of Ravens Roosts held Thursday, June 3rd to Sunday, June 6th, was another great success.   There was overwhelming publicity this year due to some of the other events going on in Ocean City that weekend.  The convention itself received coverage from the Press Box, Radio 1370, and Keith Mills from channel 2 to name a few.   Bill West, President of Roost 15 in Arbutus, has received a contract with Fox Sports radio and his show will air on Saturday mornings at 9:00 a.m.  He will feature some of the interviews from the convention, so be sure to listen in.

Entertainment:

Bridgette is looking into a River crawl and will be sending out a couple of dates.

Also may be putting together another trip to Atlantic City or Charlestown.  More information on this will be available at the next meeting.
