Council Report

 Mark reported that the RR Council has 20 Club tickets for sale.  Cost is $20.00 each.  $50.00 and $100.00 winners to be drawn weekly with a final prize of $700.00.  

 

 

 

 

 

Treasurer's Report

Balance as of 5/4 - $5,536.00.  No major expenditures outstanding. All float/parade expenses have been paid as well as the CHS Scholarship.

 

 

 

 

Membership

86 paid members - 2 new members will be presented to the Board at the next board meeting on June 29th.

 

Welcome to Mike & Kathy Sweeney; Kevin and Debbie Kinnear and Jess & Tony Bialek. 

 

Membership cards were given out.  Membership privileges now include a 10% discount on the total bill once a month per member.

The cards contain the months of the year which will be punched when used.

 

 

Publicity

The Summer Newsletter is underway and should be out by the next general meeting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wellness

Andrea Yost had a fall this week and will be off her feet for a few days. 

 

Ray and Renee Garcia’s daughter was injured at work and is home recovering.

 

PJ had rotator cup surgery and is doing well.

Scholarship Committee

The presentation of the scholarships was held at the Annual Awards Ceremony at Chesapeake High School on Tuesday, May 19th.  Our winners this year, Michael Brooks and Natalie Elardo were each awarded $2,000.00 by Lenny Banack, Jr. Scholarship Chairperson.

 

 

 

 

Fundraisers

 

Poker Night - Texas Hold 'Em - Friday May 8 - $50.00 buy in.

6 pm dinner, 7 pm cards start.  Hoping for a capacity crowd @ the Rockaway fire hall.

 

Season Ticket Raffle – Tickets are in and will be distributed tonight.  Please see Mike or Gail Weaver or Jim Finck for tickets.  Tickets will be mailed to those members not present.

 

Shrimp Feast - scheduled for October 10 at the UAW Hall on Old Ham Street.  Music will be by FOG.  Tickets are now available and the cost is $40.00. 

 

Susan G Komen for the Cure walk will be on October 18th in Hunt Valley.  Gail is leading the team again. 

 

Tailgate Party will be held on October 4, 2009 at Lenny’s.  The Ravens play New England.  Tickets will be $15.00 for members and $20.00 for guests.  The party will start at 12:00 and go till the end of the game.  There will be a total cash bar – no draft beer is included in the price of the ticket.  Tickets will be available at the next meeting.

 

 

 

 

 

Entertainment 

Bridgett reported on several social events that are in the works and sign up sheets will be circulating tonight:

 

June 13th – Wii Bowling at Lenny’s starting at 6:30

 

June 27th – Oriole Game vs. the Nationals.  1st 10,000 fans receive a replica Markakis jersey.

 

July 24th – Bowling night at Country Club Lanes from 6:30 – 9:00. $14.00 per person includes bowling and shoes.  Money will be due at July meeting.

 

August 3rd – members only crab feast at Lenny’s.  More info. will follow.

 

 

 

August 8th – Wii bowling at Lenny’s starting at 6:30 at Lenny’s/

 

August 22nd – Atlanti City Bus Trip.  Leave Lenny’s @ 8:30 am.  $28.00 per person – you will receive $30.00 when you get there.  Money is due at July meeting.

 

September 4 – possible river crawl.  We will need at least 18 definite people to secure a spot.  A decision will be made at the July meeting.

 

We are also looking into a possible bus trip to Cinncinati to see the Ravens play the Bengals on November 8th.  A side trip to the Football Hall of Fame in Canton may be included.

 

 

 

 

Ocean City Convention

 

 

 

 

 

New Business

Registration was due at the April Meeting.  All those attending the convention can pick up their gift bags from Mark’s room starting on Thursday evening.  An e-mail will be coming from Andrea with all of the other details.  Dress rehearsal for the parade will be held at Lenny’s on Monday, May 18th at 7:00. 

 

RR 73 donated $50.00 to Fidos for Freedom, Inc. – an assistance dog and therapy dog training organization on behalf of member Debbie Kahle whose very own dog is a therapy dog.  She thanked the membership for their generosity.  They recently held their Tux and Tails Gala event which honored their sponsors and she provided us with a copy of the goodie bag gratitude guide which listed RR 73 as a sponsor.
